Each country takes a turn at hosting the event. Make no mistake it’s a hotly fought contest but lots of fun and friends made for life throughout our mighty United Nations and many riders going on from a great Team Event representing their Nation to representing their country.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTeam Riders consist of 12 riders competing in the Home International. All nations may have 2 additional travelling reserve members.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll Countries should intimate their intention to be present by 1\u003csup\u003est\u003c/sup\u003e January in the year of competition to the host nation Chair or Secretary.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eShortlisted Team members must be announced by close of entries, approximately 2 weeks before the event. Teams and distances must be declared no later than 1 hour after the vetting on the Friday evening for all team horses. This allows the Chef to make any last minute adjustments after the vetting if required\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eEntries\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eTeam members are eligible to enter at members’ rates for the classes of the ride. (EGB, ILDRA, Endurance Riding Eireann, Endurance Ireland and SERC have different pricing)\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEntry and qualification criteria can also be altered, if necessary, according to the host nation’s rules. \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eChef d’Equipe\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA Chef d’Equipe will be appointed for each country. They may also be a team member. The Chef d’Equipe is responsible for the riders and crews from arrival until departure during competition.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTeam Management\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is up to each country to decide on their team management.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eSelection\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe English Team is selected under the EGB International Committee and Squad Management.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Welsh Team is selected by the Committee of the Welsh Endurance Team (WET).\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Irish team will be selected by Horse Sport Ireland (ERE, EI \u0026 ILDRA)\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe Scottish team will be selected by SERC.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eVetting\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf a 2\u003csup\u003end\u003c/sup\u003e trot up is required by the vet this should be performed in front of a vet panel with a secret ballot for GER and CER classes. A maximum of 3 trot ups is allowed after which the vets should have come to a decision. This applies to start, finish and vet gates. A panel of three vets is preferred but not essential (as not always three vets available).\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eRosettes and Medals\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe host society will present medals and rosettes (from first to fourth place) to riders of all 4 teams including all reserve team riders.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRosettes should be awarded to the Chef d’Equipe of all teams completing the ride.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eCommemorative rosettes should be awarded to the Crew members of all combinations.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eMargaret Montgomerie Home International Award\u003c/strong\u003e– a medal/rosette/keepsake should be awarded by the Chef d’Equipe of each Nation (England/Ireland/Scotland/Wales) to the team member (not necessarily a rider) who has shown the best team spirit throughout the Team Event.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eTeam Turnout\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBest Team (4 Teams) Turnout \u0026 Condition will be judged on presentation to the Vetting.
